The Carolina Herrera show began with a series of blackish navy-blue looks — a wool suit with grosgrain ribbon details; a turtleneck sweater with an embroidered indigo pencil skirt; a wool and tweed dress with a mélange cardigan and goat fur-trimmed jacket — and ended with a magnificent haute pink silk faille dress on the model Aymeline. Renée Zellweger, who was seated in the front row, sighed audibly at the sight of it. Like the models’ hair, which the stylist Orlando Pita teased up and held tight in headbands, it had a delightful floating-on-air effect. JANE HERMAN
